Sunnova Solar Energy helps reduce energy costs by harnessing the power of the sun. Now, they’ve partnered with CloudLock to secure and enable their business by embracing the power of the cloud. Here’s what Brock Hubbard, their CIO, had to say:
Cloud security is about flexibility and scalability. We really look at CloudLock to provide us the toolsets available to be transformational from a business perspective at a very rapid clip. Sunnova is a residential solar company so we manage assets of solar panels on individual consumers’ roofs.
We use a distributed partner model, meaning that we have a multitude of ways people are coming into our platform. We really need to have a fundamental understanding of our data to meet both regulatory policies as well as holding that confidential PCI.
We live in an app world. I think speed and agility are important in any industry today. I expect to be able to click something and do that task immediately. So, when you look at that, it offers a level of complexity from an IT perspective: now you’re managing an array of products and an array of different services. The toolset that you bring to bear needs to be of that same mindset. CloudLock has really enabled us to provide data security with this kind of agility.
That’s where we found CloudLock to really fit into our development lifecycle. CloudLock allowed us to take API technology, which is core to our DNA, and apply an additional layer of security. When we first transitioned to the cloud it was about speed and agility, but now we’re finding that nice hybrid approach of being able to satisfy enterprise business needs as well as still maintaining that agility.”
